Wrapping up the new year

Hey Readers, Crystal here! and these are my final thoughts of 2025

This Year was WIld

I'm never good at wrap ups and there are a couple weeks left still in December but I went from being sick, to having gallbladder surgery, moving from my shit apartment to a house with my grandmother, I published a book and went to my first public event as a local author. Holy shit it's been nuts.

December’s Local Author Showcase in my city!

Let’s talk Writing

So, how's everything going? It's going. I've talked about it a lot on stream. As of writing I'm 42k-ish into draft 1 of Project fall, the sequel to Incarnate's Rise. I'm 24 chapters in at this point and have 5 more, maybe. There is also a chance I'll be stitching book 3 into it because there is a part of me that feels like there still isn't much story here but there are times my brain is a fickle liar. We'll see. The goal is to finish the current draft before the sun rises on January 1st. Does that mean I'll actually be staying up to finish it? Gods I hope not.

Also, while we're talking about it, and I'm glancing that the picture from the Local Author Showcase... Can I just say this shit still doesn't feel real? Because it doesn't. I published my first book, I have a box of them behind me. I went to a showcase with out authors in my area... I'm an actual legit author now. I signed books! My books. I never thought I'd see the day. But here we are. It may have been a small thing, and I may have only sold a couple copies, but I did the thing! I had so much fun and I really want to do it again, and again. I want to see people who love reading buy not just my books but the other authors as well.
I saw a kid buy a book that night and curl up in a comfy chair and exist there all night. I may not right kid friendly books but there is magic in that, you know?

Did Someone Say Azurite the Archfey?

That little ball of fur has been so needy lately with all of the cuddles! I've loved every minute of it, even if that means I don't get to write cause I'm too busy having a cuddle. She's five years old now I think? She got to see her first real snow (I've lived in basements since we got her.) and to see her just zone in and watch the birds and squirrels in the backyard has been a joy to watch.

Anywho, it's a light news day and there isn't cutting room floor content this month. I also want to take this moment to wish you a lovely rest of the year, a happy holiday season and the best for 2026.  🎄

Until Next time!
